Soaking Up the Sun in La Caleta

Hola!

Continuing on my mission to swim as much as possible this year, I explored a new beach last weekend, La Caleta.

Find La Caleta on the Northeast corner of El Hierro

It is another little swimming cove, with crystal clear water, small tidal pools, and lots of fish and other aquatic life to explore under the water. Another big plus is that you can get there on the bus from Valverde in just under 20 minutes!

La Caleta is a bit smaller than Tamaduste and has less people there, but it has pools as well as the natural sea cove for swimming, and lovely stone platforms for diving, soaking up the sun, or reading a book.

Last week, I bought a snorkel and mask, so I saw lots of aquatic life, including parrot fish, a school of tiny sparkly fish, and some two-foot-long groupers of some sort. On the rocks, there are small grey crabs scurrying all over!

Overall, a lovely swimming day!

¡Hasta pronto!
