¡Hola!
A couple weeks ago, the local government in Valverde partnered with the Centro de Juventud (youth center) to put on a great concert in a gymnasium in town.

It was a super interesting event! Everyone in town was there--children I teach at school, older couples, teachers, teenagers, and even a couple babies!
The first two acts that were pretty different from the main act; they were DJ groups that wore big sunglasses, had the ever-popular floofy hair, and danced and rapped about the stage. They even played a techno version of Seven Nation Army at one point, which was an enjoyable surprise for me!

The main act was Rosana, a folk-rock singer who sang inspiring rock about leaving fear behind and overcoming insecurities. She was older, maybe 50 or so, and the crowd on the dance floor completely transformed from teenagers to older couples chanting along to the most famous songs. The music was very energizing--lots of electric guitar, drums, and stellar vocals!
I cannot seem to figure out how to upload a video, but there are some short clips on my Facebook if you are interested in hearing some of the music.
¡Hasta luego!
